Not everything we do occurs in our building. HVCA takes pride in offering high-quality programs to bring the arts to the community. See examples of HVCA Community engagement from the past:

Tunes for Tots is an educational outreach program designed to introduce three and four-year-olds to music, theatre, and the fine arts. Each year this program targets approximately 300 “at-risk” students from the cities and townships of Commerce, Highland, Milford, and White Lake. These students are identified as “high risk” because of income, academic risk, or certified disabilities.
Tunes for Tots is offered as a collaborative endeavor with Huron Valley Schools’ Apollo Center in Highland, providing HVCA with a perfect venue to bring music/theatre and art experiences to children who generally are not exposed to this type of programming. This program meets the needs of the Apollo Center because it does not have a formal art/music program, but has the ability to bring together all of the school district’s Title 1, Head Start, Schools at Risk and Pal preschoolers into one facility.
Tunes for Tots features music, puppetry, storytelling, magic, musical shows and a creative interactive celebration of reading.

The Huron Valley Council for the Arts is pleased to celebrate our 20th Anniversary and the 17th year of bringing live theater experiences to the students in Huron Valley Schools. Michigan Opera Theater performed their operatic version of Jack & the Beanstalk to (521) 2nd graders at Milford High Schools Center for Performing Arts on Thursday, April 18, 2019. This project is funded in part by Michigan Humanities, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. We appreciate the wonderful support from our members, community businesses and organizations who help make the “Arts Come Alive” in our community. A big “Thank You” to Huron Valley Schools for their collaborative efforts, the Huron Valley Education Foundation, Huron Valley Optimists, and the Michigan Humanities Council who provided funding.
