Empty nester? Between jobs? Retired? Bored? Looking to enhance your resume? Want to meet friends who are also interested in the Arts? If you appreciate the arts and have some extra time to share, HVCA would love to put your skills to work.
HVCA has many ways for you to get involved. Did you know HVCA is a self-sustaining 501(c)(3) non-profit that is run almost entirely by volunteers? It takes over 9,700 volunteer hours each year to manage and implement our programming. You can help at the office, special events, school programs, the Art Shop. No special skills required beyond having a passion for the arts and enthusiasm to accomplish the tasks at hand. In many situations, WE can work around YOUR schedule.

JULY 4, 2023. Milford Fourth of July parade. Line up at 10:00 AM; parade steps off at 11:00 AM. Main Street, Milford, between Commerce St. to Central Park
AUG 10–13, 2023. Milford Memories: Volunteers needed for set up Aug. 10 and parking lot help Aug. 11–13. Shifts morning, afternoon, and evening
NOV 17–19 Arts & Greens Holiday Art Market at Bogie Lake Greenhouses in White Lake. Assist during setup on Friday; help out during this popular event on Saturday and/or Sunday.
NOV 25, 2023 Milford Holiday Parade on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Line up will begin at 9 AM. Parade 10 AM over by Noon. The HV Christmas parade is an entertainment event, designed to appeal to families and to bring the community together.

RECEPTIONISTS: Greet visitors one or two afternoons a month, sharing general HVCA information and directing people to the gallery and The Art Shop. Qualifications: A willingness to work with the public and to share materials and information provided. Call Maggie at 248-889-8660
COMMUNICATIONS AND GRAPHIC DESIGN
DESIGN AND MARKETING:
Are you a graphic designer, writer, marketer, or webmaster? We can put your skills to work. Whether you’d like to pitch in a little or a lot, we have jobs for you, and everything can be done on your schedule from the comfort of your home computer or at HVCA if you’d enjoy working around people. Each of these roles involves working closely with the Leadership, Program, and Marketing teams.
Calendar Item Poster: Promote HVCA’s events by posting in various calendars as assigned by writer/editor. Qualifications: Should be proficient in English and detail-oriented. HVCA’s writer/editor will train.
Videographers: people who represent HVCA at Farmer’s Markets, music events, etc
HOSPITALITY
HCVA can always use some extra hands for short or long-term assignments, generally at our location at 205 W. Livingston Road, Highland, but occasionally for off-site events as well.
Arts & Greens, always the weekend before Thanksgiving, held at Bogie Lake Greenhouses in White Lake: Varies. Greeting and counting customers, directing foot or parking lot traffic, or providing extra hands to artists in need. Two-hour shifts during the event or with preplanning. Qualifications: A friendly smile and willingness to help make this a great experience for all.
Office Helpers & Executive Interns: Help with daily office operations, special mailings and projects that make the HVCA run smoothly.
Education: enthusiastic, well-organized education committee members to relaunch fresh and exciting new programs.
Special Event Volunteers: Including one time helpers and planning committee members.
