Drawing and painting have been in my life since the age of 8, when my mother gave me a gift of a series of drawing lessons. By age 12 I became involved with the YWCA in La Porte, Indiana where I was a counselor specializing in the arts and crafts programs. Every summer (even while I was in college) I spent my summers doing what I loved. I majored in art college and have several certificates in the art world. After marriage, I again taught art at the YWCA among other jobs. I was the Executive Director for the Huron Valley Council for the Arts for 3 years and this was a great source of joy. Every position that I have held has always brought me back to the world of art where I am most happy. At the present time, I am teaching 2 or 3 classes a week and enjoying the world of art.
