Marla Shelton

I come from a background of artists and collectors who taught me the value of history and workmanship of the past. My jewelry is of collected bits that might otherwise have been discarded and my books are a reflection of a handmade tradition not of this electronic world. I’m inspired by the stories of the past and know each piece has its own to tell. Each necklace is a collection of wonderful treasures ranging from Civil War era to the mid 20th century, curated and brought together to create a one of a kind piece. I like “small and precious” so many of my books are classified as miniatures while others are a size comfortable for the hand and easy to carry for recording thoughts, sketches and journeys.
