The 17th Annual Arts and Greens Holiday Art Market is set amidst beautiful flowers and greenery inside the Bogie Lake Greenhouses at 1625 Bogie Lake Road, White Lake Twp., Oakland Co., MI. A wide variety of affordable art and gifts by regional artists makes this a favored event of community and HVCA. Greens workshops to be announced by the Greenhouses; music by Cary Kocher and food truck by C.C.’s Soul Food.

HVCA celebrates 17th year of Arts & Greens Nov. 18–19, 2023
Holiday shoppers can kick off the holiday season ahead of Black Friday by purchasing gifts for everyone on their list in a festive atmosphere during the 17th annual Arts & Greens Holiday Art Market Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19.
This event is a true pARTnership between Huron Valley Council for the Arts and Bogie Lake Greenhouses, 1525 Bogie Lake Road in White Lake. There’s something for everyone on your holiday list in this extraordinary venue owned by Patty and Mark Watkins. It’s also a way to support local artists, as most featured at this event are from the area. It takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Sioux Trujillo, HVCA executive director, explained, “Arts & Greens is our annual fundraiser for Huron Valley Council for the Arts. In its 17th year, Arts & Greens seeks to offer visitors a festive shopping experience featuring fine art and handmade goods, including small-batch food items and body products, pottery, jewelry, wood, and metalwork, fiber art, print, painting, mixed media, and more handcrafted by juried Michigan artists.”
The artists/vendors include a booth with items from members of The Art Shop, which is an art collaborative shop based at HVCA; the shop includes gifts as well as fine arts and fine crafts.
Mary Gihuly of Song and Spirit, a nonprofit organization that brings people of different faith traditions together to engage in creative service to those in need, has been returning to Arts & Greens for a number of years. She offers beautiful mosaics created by their participants. She stated, “This show has appeal for me because it is always changing and evolving, and that different artists come and go in a good way. I love the setting, shoppers are there to appreciate the work, and I love the variety of art to be found there. It always surprises me that we sell such a diversity of subject matter at Arts & Greens, from angels to skunks, and everything in-between.”
Vibraphonist Cary Kocher will keep the crowd entertained with his performances throughout the weekend. Tickets also will be sold throughout the weekend for a holiday tree raffle.
The annual free winter evergreen workshops. Conducted by Patty Watkins, co-owner of Bogie Lake Greenhouses, they will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday and at 1 p.m. Sunday. These workshops focus on the basics of crafting evergreen centerpieces as well as outdoor evergreen containers and additional holiday decorations.
After her discussion, Watkins will invite participants to create their own evergreen decoration. Those taking part may bring in containers or decorations from home or use the containers, greens, and holiday decorations available for purchase. Pre-registration is recommended for the classes, which are free of charge. Email blgreenhou@aol.com to reserve a spot.
